What Immigration Forms Are Available Online?

Online formsSome applications, such as those used for applying for a Permanent Resident Card or a citizenship certificate have to be filed using a paper application.

Citizenship and Canada makes this process somewhat easier by allowing applicants to pay their fees online, but the physical copies of applications still need to be mailed in to CIC processing offices.

However, there are some forms that can be filed entirely online. Below are the immigration benefits that can be taken care of entirely online.

Visitor Visas

Visitors who need to obtain a visa before entering Canada can file and pay for their visa application entirely online.

Before you begin the process of applying for a visitor visa, please be sure to check the list of countries that require visitor visas.

The fees for visitor visas vary. Families who apply together at the same time and place do not have to worry about the total costs rising above $400. Single entry visas cost $75 a person. Multiple entry visas will cost $150 a person. The fees are independent of an applicant’s age.

Study Visas

Foreign residents who wish to go to school in Canada will need to apply for a study permit.

Before applying for a study permit, applicants must first secure an acceptance letter from a Canadian educational institution that has been accepted by the CIC for study permits.

Study permits come with a $125 fee.

Foreign students may be eligible for immigration through the Canadian Experience Class program.

Work Permits

Foreign residents who wish to come to Canada to work temporarily need to obtain a work permit.

Before applying for the work permit, workers need to obtain a positive Labour Market Opinion, a confirmation from the Canadian government that says that Canada does indeed need the applying worker.

Work Permits cost $150.
